Everything has a starting point. Our lives, our jobs, our relationships. We move to different homes and schools and have to start from scratch. We leave high school for College and the enter the workforce. For every new season, we naturally hit the reset button and adapt our thinking and actions to our new circumstances. Sometimes, old thoughts and behaviors don’t seem to fit in our new reality and they fall by the wayside. This can be a positive thing, but it can also leave behind things that are truly beneficial and life-giving.
Have you ever felt like the faith that you were taught as a child doesn’t seem to make a whole lot of sense anymore? Have you ever thought that the things that you learned about God from friends and family really doesn’t hold up?
Faith has a starting point too. For some of us the foundation is rock solid, for others it’s a crumbling bridge. What if we could hit the reset button and take a look at who God is and why His existence should even matter to us here and now? What if we debunked some of those myths about God and truly began to have an intelligent and civil conversation?
What if we could establish a new starting point for our faith? One that is not dependent on oversimplified ideas, or glossing over difficult subjects. A faith that is relevant and intelligent, that speaks life into the world around us instead of condemning it to oblivion. A faith about a God who loves us and has given everything so that we can know Him and live a life full of purpose and joy.
Twice a year (in the spring and the fall) we offer starting point small groups where we’ll be taking a leap into faith and believing that God is bigger than our questions and doubts. We’ll take 8 weeks to listen, learn, discuss, and grow in our understanding of who God is and what being a follower of Jesus means for us. This season will change your life. You’ll look at yourself and the world around you in a totally different way.
