Come to Church with Us this Sunday!

WHAT TO EXPECT AT A TYPICAL SUNDAY SERVICE

  • Announcements for upcoming events and how to get involved.
  • Live music with the lyrics on the screens so you can sing along or just meditate on the truths.

You may or may not know the songs, but we pick our songs based on their content – we want to sing truths about who we believe God to be!

  • Prayer Time
  • Time for Giving
  • Relevant, challenging, Bible-based sermons with real life application.
  • Communion on the first Sunday of the month
  • We like coffee, so help yourself to a cup or other refreshments and a snack.

Frequently Asked Questions

SHOULD I WEAR A MASK?

  • You are more than welcome to wear a mask when you attend our services and some people do wear them, but we currently do not require it in the building.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR WHEN ATTENDING A SUNDAY SERVICE

  • People at Thorndale United Methodist church typically dress casually on Sunday mornings. Wear what makes you feel comfortable—you’re among family here!

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS ON SUNDAY MORNINGS?

  • We offer programming for kids birth through 6th grade. We know you care about your kids – and we want to too! We recommend pre-registering your kids for the best check-in experience

WILL I HAVE TO IDENTIFY MYSELF OR BE CALLED OUT?

  • We want you to feel welcomed at Thorndale United Methodist Church. You will never be asked to stand up and identify yourself, or anything else that might make you feel uncomfortable.

AM I EXPECTED TO GIVE MONEY?

  • We will have an offering during the service. But, as our guest, we do not expect any money from you. The offering is a way for the Thorndale Church family to respond to God and join the mission of the church through their giving. If you’re new, we don’t expect you to give. Our service is a gift to you.
  • If you do consider Thorndale United Methodist Church your church home, we’d love for you to prayerfully consider regular giving. You can give by check, cash or by phone at weekend services or any time during the week, on-line, after you have set up an online giving account on our web site.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU CELEBRATE THE LORD’S TABLE (COMMUNION, THE EUCHARIST)?

  • Usually once a month. We celebrate an “open table”, meaning you don’t have to be a member or even a regular attender to take communion. Communion is open to all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ.
