“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me. Don’t keep them away. The kingdom of heaven belongs to people like them.” – Matthew 19:14
Purpose
The goal of the children’s ministry is to be a place where children meet and experience God. We desire to partner with families to introduce children to Jesus and help them grow in their faith. We believe that children can understand what Jesus has done for them, experience his love, and communicate it to their friends. We want to disciple children so that they can better understand God’s love for them and so that they are equipped to share that love with God’s big world.
Kid Jam
Worship and small group time for Preschool through 5th grade takes place downstairs in the Garden each Sunday morning at 10am year round. We believe that everything we do in Children’s ministry should be Christ-centered and age appropriate. The children’s ministry uses the “252 Basics” curriculum based on Luke 2:52, “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men.”
The 252 Basics Curriculum
The curriculum focuses on 3 basics truths:
- I need to make the wise choice
- I can trust God no matter what
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated
We teach the children a new virtue each month, along with a memory verse that reinforces the virtue. We use fun, exciting, and relevant Bible stories to reinforce the principles in Luke 2:52. We also send home God Time Cards and Parents Cues each month to encourage families to continue learning about the virtue of the month at home.
You can also learn more about our monthly theme and enjoy awesome videos and activities at Studio 252. A code for full access to this site can be picked up in the children’s area on Sunday mornings.
