Dear TUMC Family,
Good Afternoon. There has been much prayer and many meetings this week regarding COVID-19. I know there have been heavy hearts and anxious minds around all that is happening. There has been much to take in and to consider. Know that this message is wrapped in prayer, and comes with the hope it will settle our souls a bit.
The situation here in Chester County has changed daily. After watching the press conference with County Commissioners a few minutes ago, and after consulting with our Leaders and Staff, we’ve made the decision to do worship differently this week. The county has issued a “Declaration of Disaster Services,” and they are “employing all public health strategies” for the next two weeks. Governor Wolf just announced that schools are closing for that time as well. The care and safety of our church family is at the forefront of our concern, especially those most vulnerable, and the following decision is not one that was made quickly or taken lightly. However, I’m sorry to say that we will not gather in the church building on Sunday morning. It is my hope that we will record my message and music and share a link with all of you via email. It may not be sent until Sunday afternoon so look for it then.
The attached article, “The Ten Commandments for Coronavirus Prevention in Faith Communities,” provides good advice for all of us to follow to protect ourselves, our families and friends.
Take a look, check in on each other, stay connected, and hold this community in prayer. Let us know of your needs and concerns as we navigate this together. For we do so knowing that God is with us every moment and for us every day.
Be smart, stay safe and please check your email and this website for updates regarding .
In Christ,
Pastor Shauna
